TSUNAMI EVACUATION IN A MASSIVE CROWD EVENT USING AN AGENT-BASED MODEL
نویسندگان
چکیده
Under emergencies, individuals tend to move faster than during normal conditions, i.e., evacuation vs non-evacuation scenarios (Helbing et al., 2000; Cornes 2019; Chen 2018). Evacuations because of false alarms, terrorist attacks, fires, or disasters like earthquakes tsunamis can quickly increase stress levels in people. Activities such as carnivals, festivals, sports, pilgrimages, and marches gather thousands people one place. In the literature, open space tsunami evacuations places beaches are scarce. Studies from Takabatake al. (2018) Lanza (2021) have integrated beach users their simulations. However, studies involving massive including socio-psychological interactions, our knowledge, not documented. The main objective this study is assess human behavior a hypothetical scenario coastal area, using Valparaíso City case study.

Agent-based Simulation of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Evacuation: An Integrated Model of Tsunami Inundation and Evacuation
The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake/Tsunami was a magnitude 9.0 Mw event that destroyed most structural tsunami countermeasures. However, approximately 90% of the estimated population at risk from the tsunami survived due to rapid evacuation to higher ground or inland. In this paper, we introduce an evacuation model integrated with a numerical simulation of a tsunami and a casualty estimation ...
متن کاملHuman Relationship Modeling in Agent-Based Crowd Evacuation Simulation
Crowd evacuation simulations are becoming a tool to analyze and assess the safety of occupants in buildings. Agent-based simulation provides a platform on which to compute individual and collective behaviors that occur in crowds. We propose a human behavior model in evacuation based on the Belief-Desire-Intention (BDI) model and Helbing’s agent behavior model. Human relationships affect the sta...

Simulation of Evacuation Behavior from Tsunami Utilizing Multi Agent System
The simulation model of evacuation behavior from tsunami is constructed utilizing Multi-Agent-System in this study. The validity of the simulation model is verified by applying it to the case of Aonae, Okushiri Island during the Southwest-off Hokkaido Earthquake of 1993. And results of some case studies for winter earthquake show that snow conditions affect evacuation behavior greatly, and that...
متن کاملAn Agent-based Tsunami Alert System
Natural tsunami catastrophes occurred over the years have developed the interest in studying the associated physical phenomena in order to refine existing modeling tools and enhance alert mechanisms. To this purpose, it is essential to carry out an adequate risk analysis for the most exposed areas and therefore to study any historical event that may provide useful indications on the dynamics of...
